About the festival

AFRIKALDIA (AFK) is the Basque African Films Festival, which aims to promote and disseminate African cinema and reflect on the realities of the continent.

Afrikaldia is a reflection of the cultural, linguistic and musical richness emanating from the African continent and its diaspora around the world.

Our objectives are:

-Building bridges between societies and people: Afrikaldia shows the diversity and richness of African cultures and promotes their knowledge to break down prejudices and stereotypes that can hinder coexistence and mutual recognition.

-Broadening horizons on Africa: Afrikaldia promotes critical and quality cinema to foster social awareness and reflection on Africa and offers other points of view and lesser-known realities of the continent and its diaspora.
